Avondconcert: The Birth of Gospel

In dit sfeervolle en swingende concert klinken vroege hymnen uit de Verenigde Staten naast Engelse kerstklassiekers. Holland Baroque en het London Community Gospel Choir volgen het pad terug naar de eerste gospelsongs en vieren Kerstmis volgens oude tradities in een fonkelnieuwe combinatie.

De weelde van barok en de swing van gospel treffen elkaar in dit uitbundige kerstconcert. Judith Steenbrink, violist bij Holland baroque: “In de rijkdom van ons repertoire én de ontmoeting met de geweldige vrienden van London Community Gospel Choir vinden we de vrijheid om iets nieuws te scheppen. Barok is voor ons ook het begin van iets nieuws. Uit interesse voor elkaars repertoire zijn we ooit begonnen en hier staan we nu: met een swingend kerstconcert The Birth of Gospel. Barok en gospel zijn springlevend!”
